Corinthia Hotel - Case Study

Situated within an imposing Victorian building located on the corner of Northumberland Avenue and Whitehall Place, the Corinthia Hotel has emerged as a world class, five star hotel. From the outset the aim was to provide a luxurious hotel in the style of a grand English home with contemporary amenities and state of the art facilities to attract the most discerning of client. Every room is notably spacious and all feature the finest materials and considered touches throughout.

Working with the interior designer GA Design

International, Allgood soon realised that this was no ordinary project. Initial consultations revolved around which material to use to reflect the aspirations of the hotel. It was decided that bespoke furniture would be designed for the guestrooms, creating a leather theme with a bronze metallic finish.

The creation of a wide new range of items brought its challenges. Not only did we have to manufacture new forms of handles but we were working with different finishes and materials. Items were created from finished satin stainless steel material, then applied with a PVD bronze finish and finally a leather grip was attached. To achieve a consistent hardware offering across the building, Allgood provided 294 hotel rooms with bronze FSB 41020 lever handle attached to matching on-door access control escutcheons.

Although a hugely challenging project, the ironmongery package for the Corinthia Hotel provides a great example of an ironmongery specification that pushes the boundaries and provides a great result for the client.
