What Skeletons Are Hanging in Your Closet? Business Skills to Ensure Good Plan
Governance
Good housekeeping is an essential part of your company’s plan governance. If a plan
sponsor’s documents and governance structure were in a metaphorical closet, a closer
peek inside might reveal that what plan sponsors are (or are not) doing could be putting
their companies at risk. This program will provide a primer on the basic standards of
fiduciary conduct for retirement and welfare plans. Like any good housekeeping activity,
periodic review and maintenance is key to ensuring that a plan sponsor’s fiduciary duty
under ERISA is met …and to ensure there are no skeletons lurking in your plan’s closet!

Legal Project Management Moves In-house
Businesses have long used project management to effectively plan projects and manage
business teams. Today’s business realities have led to the rapidly expanding use of Legal
Project Management (LPM) within corporate legal departments.
Pamela Woldow,
recognized as a global leader in LPM and a former General Counsel herself, will discuss
how LPM can serve as a powerful tool for in-house counsel to meet the demands of
corporate management and to improve efficiency, predictability and working relationships
with internal clients and constituents. Pam will review the basic components of LPM and
give practical examples of how basic LPM principles translate into superior communication,
collaboration with colleagues outside the Legal Department.
