Often our loyalties are placed in whoever has
proven themselves worthy of it. By default, family
receives and earns our loyalty just for being related to us.
Antigone understands that her loyalty goes to her brother
before her King Creon. The irony of this story is that the
majority of people in this story are related to Antigone.
Her loyalty is tested in a more difficult and complicated
way. She had to decide who in her family earned her
highest loyalty.
Creon threatening her and disrespecting her brother
didn’t give Antigone reason to submit to him. Her
rebellion against Creon proves that Antigone only gives
loyalty to those that earn it.
I feel that Creon is completely responcible for all of
the deaths in the play. Antigone would never have hung
herself if she wasn’t put in the stone cave with such little
food. When Haemon told his dad that he was gonna marry
Antigone Creon wasn’t very happy. When Creon told his
son about his plan for Antigone, he was very upset and
left. And finally Creons wife overheard a conversation
about sons death and ended her life as well. So Creon is
completely responsible.
Creon is very responsible for the deaths of
Antigone, Haemon, and Eurydice. Creon locked Antigone
up, causing Haemon to kill himself. Eurydice was so sad
about losing a son that she killed herself. Antigone knew
she was going to die, so she killed herself to make it fast.
Even though they killed themselves, it is Creon’s actions
that drive them to do it. He even says on page 1106, “I
have been rash and foolish. I have killed my son and
wife.” Creon knew that by locking Antigone in a cave that
she would die. Creon is totally responsible for the deaths
of Antigone, Haemon, and Eurydice.

Creon had a big role in Antigone, Haemon, and
Eurydice. He had such a big responsibility because he was
to stuborn to change his mind. So many people told him it
was not right and that he would be punished. Creon own
son treatened him with both of their lives. Haemon told
his father many times to let what Antigone did go. Even
Ismene stood up for her sister, when she told Antigone
she wanted nothing to do with what she was planning.
After all of Creons warnings he was still stuck in his own
way. In the end the death of his son, his sons bride, and
Creons wife was all Creons fault.
