The light reaction starts with little photons from the sunThey strike the thylakoid & split the water- it’s all done!
Electrons from the molecules of high, high energy
They’re NADPH & molecules of ATP!

CO2 & water yields oxygen & glucose

And that’s called photosynthesis!

CO2 goes through the pores, connects with ATP
Goes through the Calvin cycle, known as dark reaction to meThis all takes place in stroma deep within the chloroplast,
Yielding one molecule of glucose in a remarkable task!

The breaking down of glucose is cellular respiration
All organisms do this or they are in desperation!
The glucose splits into two parts, known as pyruvates
Then oxygen determines which pathway they will take!

If oxygen is gone them fermentation it must chooseThe end products are lactic acid or some ethanol booze!
This pathway is anaerobic, only two ATPsThat’s not a lot of energy for things like you or me!

If oxygen is present, then the Krebbs cycle it takesGoes through the steps and 36 molecules of ATP it makes
The end products are CO2 & water-there’s no risk-
Can you see this is the opposite of photosynthesis!!
