Section 4.01
The Supreme legislative body shall be the
Interfraternity Council. The Interfraternity Council shall be the
governing body of all social fraternities on the Nicholls State
University Campus. Voting members of the Council shall consist of 3
delegates. Each fraternity is entitled to one vote for each voting Council
member present, maximum of three (3) votes. A representative must be in
good standing with the university; neither on academic or disciplinary
probation. The alternative may represent any of the council members
representing his fraternity.
Section 4.02
Officers, qualifications, Removal
(a) The elected officers of the Interfraternity Council shall be President, Executive vicePresident, Recruitment Vice President. Judicial Vice-President, Secretary, and
Treasurer.
(b) Candidates for any Interfraternity Council office must fulfill the following
requirements:
(i) Must have passed minimum, of thirty (30) hours.
(ii) Must be in good academic standing with the University, maintaining a cumulative GPA
of 2.5 or better and not be on disciplinary probation.
(iii) No chapter may hold more than three positions on the Executive Board.
(c) Nominations for officers shall occur at the first meeting in November. Elections of
officers will be held at the second meeting of November. Installation of officers shall
be held at the first meeting in January.
(d) The officers shall be elected by a majority of the Council and will hold office until
installations of new officers.
(e) No fraternity president or Vice-President shall hold office of President of the
Interfraternity Council.
