David Berezov
David A. Berezov, Associate Professor of the Practice of Engineering Management at Vanderbilt
University, has over 37 years of business experience in accounting, finance, and business management
and currently teaches courses for engineering professionals entering business organizations. Prior to
joining the faculty of Vanderbilt University, Berezov had nearly three decades of experience in finance
and operations in the sewn products industry. In 1988 Berezov became President and Owner of Saber
Industries, Inc. located in Nashville, Tennessee. The business, which consisted of industrial equipment
design, manufacturing and international distribution, was sold in 2008. This small business experience
earned Berezov several honors and awards during his tenure at Saber Industries. From 1991 to 1992
he held a Federal appointment to the U.S. Small Business Administration Tennessee Advisory Council.
From 2007 to 2009 he held a Federal appointment to the U.S. Department of Commerce, Tennessee
Export Council. In 1997 he was the U.S. SBA Tennessee Exporter of the Year, and in 2007 he was the
Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce Manufacturer of the Year in the export division.
Berezov began his career in the accounting industry with positions at Ernst & Young (formerly Ernst &
Ernst) and at the American Retirement Corporation, where he managed retirement community design,
development and operations in the USA. Berezov holds a B.S. in finance and accounting from Syracuse
University and an MBA from Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University.
