To participate in the CPCC Career and College Promise (CCP) program at Cochrane
Collegiate Academy you must be a rising junior or senior and on track for graduation
with a minimum of a weighted 3.0 GPA. Only CURRENT Juniors and Seniors can
take Spring Semester CPCC Courses.
You may register for as many CCP Classes as you can fit into your personal schedule.
These are in ADDITION to your required classes for graduation as you take your CCP
classes after the normal school day.
You can only select CPCC classes from the approved list of Career and College Promise
Courses that can be found on the CPCC website under the “Career and College Promise”
section.
Tuition for your CPCC Classes will be paid for. You may receive a $50.00 book card for
EACH class to help cover the cost of textbooks. You will be responsible for additional
costs. Receipt of a book card is solely dependent on funding availability.
You must follow CPCC’s Academic Calendar. This means you might be attending
CPCC classes during CMS holidays, breaks, and teacher workdays, or in the evenings.
Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from CPCC.
Students may not stay on the Cochrane Campus waiting for transportation to a CCP
Course.
After you have applied to CPCC and taken the Accu-Placer exam at a CPCC campus or
supplied me with the appropriate Placement Scores (attached) you and your parent(s)
must attend a required CCP Program at Cochrane . (Date TBD) I will give you the
meeting date information once you supply me with your CPCC ID Confirmation and
your test Scores. Information about how to register for your classes will be given at this
meeting. Failure to attend this meeting will automatically drop you from the program.
The grade you receive for your CCP Program classes will count twice. This grade will
go on your official College Transcript and it will also go on your CMS High School
Transcript. These are college level classes and the professors will treat you as such.
Attendance at CPCC classes is required. Three or more absences in your CCP Program
classes could result in an “F” for the course. This could mean an “F” on your College
Transcript and an “F” on your High School Transcript that will factor into your GPA and
class rank.
