Washington Redskins Business Development Intern Description
The Washington Redskins are seeking qualified individuals to join the Suite Sales Department as a
Business Development Intern. The right individual will be able to work as part of a team or
individually. Intern responsibilities include but are not limited to lead generation, data entry, internet
research, and client services.
Qualifications:






Excellent communication skills required, both written and verbal.
Superior telephone manner and etiquette are necessary.
Above average computer skills including excel are required.
Superior customer service skills are a plus.
Proven experience to appropriately work with and around confidential information is necessary.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team and ability to take direction is a must.
All internship candidates must be eligible to receive college credits. A proof of credit letter from your
College or University is required.

Responsibilities Description:
The business development position is more along the lines of “prospecting” responsibilities – researching
potential clients and writing up bio’s, help create sales presentations/compile pictures that the sales team
will use when reaching out to new clients, keep and maintain game day/client notes that are archived in
our CRM system, etc.
Time Requirements:


Full time is preferred (M-F). 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Additional work required on weekends / nights contingent upon game and event schedule. (Note:
Fall interns must be available to work on game days.)
Responsibilities List May Include But Not Limited To:
Create prospect lead lists.
Research and create biographies in Washington Redskins database for potential sales leads.
Research event attendees for Washington Redskins hosted events as well as events hosted by
outside vendors that Washington Redskins sales people will attend.
Discover new prospects through Newspapers, Journals, Magazines, and Event Lists.
Help maintain and update current and prospective client database including personal and
professional information.
Assist with the planning of and execution of Washington Redskins Suite Owner events.
Assist with the planning of and execution of Washington Redskins prospect attended events.
Create FedExField Suite presentations for prospects.
Help to maintain office organization with properly labeling folders and binders, contract
distribution, updating necessary suite listing and availability charts.
Maintain and update the Suites/Hospitality memorabilia inventory storage room.
Attend networking events at Redskins Park and FedExField.
If necessary help with the execution of Washington Redskins home games or special events
hosted at FedExField.
Help with the contacting of prospects to arrange and confirm meetings and/or event attendance.
Draft letters to company executives who view our website in order to follow up on their expressed
interest.
Combine all created lead lists into the master lead list to ensure that prospects are always
followed up with.
Help with answering the phone and taking messages while full time staff members are in
meetings.
Students will use our Archtics program to assist with looking up client accounts for ticketing
information and invoicing purposes.
Help with the FedEx shipping of client gifts, ticket packages, and memorabilia.
Assist in hosting prospect meetings at FedExField to allow individuals to visit and tour suites.
Help with creating mail and email merges in order to reach current clients and prospects.
Student will also help with researching contact information for any prospective clients or referrals.
