THE
PRIMARY PAPER
“Success Crowns Effort”
Term 1 Week 1—27th January 2016
Welcome Back
Welcome back to our families for 2016 as we settle into our new classes and our new year begins. We have many new
families joining our school community this year and we send out a warm welcome to these students and parents. As
always, I ask you help in welcoming and supporting these families as they join our school.
Thank you to all the families who have their school items and necessary curriculum support. If you are having any trouble
in obtaining or sourcing any of the booklist items, please contact your classroom teacher who will lend support of where
books can be purchased or make arrangements for your child’s items. It is important your child has the necessary learning
tools every day.
We are busy finalising the school calendar and are hoping to issue this soon. As you can imagine it is a big job to lock in dates
for the entire year. The school calendar is a great communication tool to advise you of our important school events. Once the
dates are finalised they will be added to the school website and school app.
We look forward to another successful year at Clifton State School and continuing to build our students’ love of learning!

Parade – Monday 2.45pm
Tuckshop
I would like to welcome parents and the wider school community to attend Clifton’s weekly parade at 2:45pm on Mondays. Important messages and details are discussed each
week. We celebrate many student successes through the
week and students like to have parents there to share in their
success.
Tuckshop will start this Friday Week 1. Thank you to Hayley and Stacey who have kindly offered to convene the tuckshop in 2016. Please contact the school administration if you
are available to volunteer your time on a Friday to help prepare the lunches.
Rewards Day
Term One Rewards Day will be held on Thursday 24th March
after the Easter Bonnet Parade. Students will be
rewarded
for excellent behaviour, attendance and
participation
with a variety of activities. This year we will announce the
rewards day activities early in the term so that students
know what they are working towards.
Term One Rewards Day:
Gold Reward – Colour Run
Silver Reward – Plaster the Principal
Bronze – Easter Activities
Rewards Day Guidelines
Sporting Schools
I am very excited to announce that Clifton State School has
been successful in securing a Sporting Schools Grant for
2016. Sporting Schools is a $100 million Australian
Government initiative designed to help schools to
increase children’s participation in sport, and to
connect children with community sport. We will be
providing children the opportunity to participate in
supervised sports activities after school on Mondays
from 3:00pm to 4:00pm with a certified coach. These
sessions will commence in Week 3 on Monday 8 th February and Athletics will be the focus sport. Information
will be sent home soon.
Teachers will use these guidelines when deciding Gold, Silver and Bronze awards at the end of each term. This will ensure consistency and equality across the whole school.
