Submit this application for an endorsement from your class vice principal relating to
attendance, tardies, and behavior. They will then turn this in to Student Government.
Note that more than 10 unexcused/unverified absences and excessive tardies can
disqualify you from running for office—the work we do as student leaders required
reliability and dependability, and you must demonstrate this in your performance in
school.

Office Descriptions:
All positions (excepting Class Vice Presidents) must take the Student Government Class next
year and must attend Executive Board, a weekly meeting Mondays at Lunch throughout the
school year
Class Offices
Sophomore Class Senate: Share in the following responsibilities:
 Responsible for making the Class Float during Homecoming Week
 Plans the class dances throughout the school year
 Attends monthly PTA meetings and gives a report
 Assists the Class President in class duties and planning class events
 Overlooks and manages class funds
 Records minutes at class meetings
Junior and Senior Class Presidents
 Responsible for making the Class Float during Homecoming Week
 Plans the class dances throughout the school year: Senior Ball
 Attends monthly PTA meetings and gives a report
Junior and Senior Class Vice President/Treasurer/Secretary (one position per class)
 Assists the Class President in class duties and planning class events
 Plans the class dances throughout the school year: Junior Prom
 Overlooks and manages class funds
 Records minutes at class meetings
ASB Offices available to all DHS Students
Clubs Commissioner
Pre-Requisite: Club Leadership as a Club Officer or experience in DSHS Student Government.
Please have your teacher form done by your club advisor
 Manages and oversees all club activity
 Makes club applications for the start of 1st and 2nd semester
 Organize and Facilitate Clubs Council Meetings to explain club expectations
 Checks club minute forms and reports to exec
 Organizes the clubs fair each semester
School Board Representative
 Represents and voices the opinion of the student body at the school board meetings and
DJUSD Student Council Meetings.
 Gives reports on school board meetings to the Student Government class.
 Manages the Davis High School Student Forum and represents those students’ opinion
when reporting the forum’s decisions to the School Board or other DJUSD Student Board
Representatives.
Associated Student Body Treasurer
 Overlooks and manages ASB funds
 Approves ASB expenditures
 Counts all money from ASB events
 Works with ASB Bookkeeper to make sure procedures are followed for ASB and Club
funds
Associated Student Body Secretary
 Records minutes for all executive meetings
 Takes notes for the Student Government class
 Collects, organizes, and files Student Government committee head reports
 Collects ASB and Community Service hours from the Student Government
Communications Commissioner
 In charge of making copies for the Student Government class
 In charge of changing the marquee in front of the school
 Potty Press writer

Student liaison between Student Government and the Climate Committee

In charge of TexMarks communications system, Facebook Group, and other
communications avenues.
ASB OFFICES Available Only for Current Student Government Members
Associated Student Body President
Plans the schedule for and is in charge of the Student Government Class
 Organizes the class into committees to put on events
 Runs Exec meetings once a week at Lunch
 Ultimately responsible for all ASB events (Homecoming, Assemblies, etc.)
 Meets with the ASB Vice President and Student Government Advisor each week to shape
the Student Government Class
Associated Student Body Vice President
 Assists the ASB President in any way possible
 Runs the ASB/Class Officer Elections (unless is a junior)
 Meets with the ASB President and Student Government Advisor each week to shape the
Student Government Class
 Organizes and runs weekly class visits.
