Anti-Litter Policy
‘It is estimated that the average person drops just under half a ton of litter each year.’
(Keep Britain Tidy, 2009)
Lochgelly South Primary School seeks to be a litter free area where pupils, staff and
visitors alike respect the school building and grounds. We provide teaching and
learning opportunities which support pupils to discuss and understand the anti-social
effects of littering and vandalism. We are working to ensure our pupils are
Responsible Citizens.
Lochgelly South Eco Warriors:
 Remind pupils and the wider school community of the importance of
maintaining a litter free playground through school assemblies and other

 Adopt a pro-active praise centred scheme which encourages children to put
their litter in the bin.
 Take responsibility for all waste and recycle what they can.
