On 21-23 October the biggest and unique, according to the visitors and specialists,
International Fair of Hydraulics, Pneumatics Control and Drives, HaPeS 2014, was held in Katowice.
The most technologically advanced equipment and components used in fluid technology
market, prestigious awards, professional lectures and workshops and numerous specialists - are the
assets of the Katowice Fair.
At the space of 5000 sq.m., the 10th edition gathered over 130 companies from England,
Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, The Czech Republic, Denmark, Greece, Spain, Finland, France, Germany,
Slovakia, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, USA, Italy and Poland. The fair was visited by over
2 thousand people of the industry.

The exhibition was accompanied by conferences and workshops conducted by specialists from
industry and less formal, but equally important meetings exhibitors with their customers. On the first
and the second day the conference was held specially prepared on the occasion of the tenth
anniversary of the fair:
"20 Years of Fair HaPeS - an important factor in the development of
technologies and the market of fluid technology" led by the experts of Corporation of Drives and of
Hydraulics and Pneumatics from Wroclaw. The event was chaired by Mr Henry Chrostowski, who has
been supporting the Katowice HaPeS since the beginning. The Organizer did not forget about the
students and school learners - future engineers- who, in collaboration with the Fairexpo exhibitors,
were encouraged to submit their resumes and invited to take part in discussions with the trade
professionals. For them, a workshop concerning hydraulic systems design was organized.
Numerous novelties and new product releases made the fair prestigious, within the
frameworks of the competition, organized jointly with the monthly "Drives and Controls" for the best
solution, awarding them the title PRODUCT HaPeS. Among the winners and awarded with gold medals
and statuettes in the category of New Construction and Technologies, was Bosch Rexroth Sp. z o.o.,
in the category of Electromechanical Actuator HEAVY DUTY EMC (EMC-HD), Hektos Sławomir Pokraka
for bidirectional hydraulic pump type XPI, Centrum Produkcyjne Pneumatyki "Prema" S.A. for the
preparation of the compressed air unit G1 a "Górnik". In the category of Safety Improvement Ponar
Wadowice S.A. was awarded for the valves type WE6_M, WE10_M, WEH16_M, WEH22_M with
overdrive signaling slider, Parker Hannifin Sales Poland Sp. z o.o. for the EO-3 - the switches system
with the visual control of the correct installation and Gates Europe for fitting iLock. In the category of
Drives and Motors, the jury awarded the first place to the company Hafner Pomagier - Trzebuchowscy
S.j. for pneumatic cylinders D80-D160 with internal limit switches valves, Bibus Menos Sp. z o.o. for
the demo application - study of the flow throttle valve feedback, the company Biuro Handlowe"Kurant
Trade" Krzysztof Kurant for Test Series Actuator 326 Premium in quality of Servofloat Hanchen
company. In the category of Automatic Process Control Systems Involving Pneumatic and Hydraulic
Elements of Executive the awards received: Amet SC Jan Kawiak, Wiktor Kuśnierz for the stall of the
innovative hydraulic power supply to the body, Multiprojekt for pneumatic valve coil powered by less
than 1W, Ponar Wadowice S.A. for reduction valve- overflow proportional intrinsically IWZCDE4. In
the last, the fifth category Measuring Devices and Sensors, the winner was Pepperl + Fuchs Sp. z o.o.
F31K2 the sensor to detect the position of the valve, Elesa + Ganter Poland Sp. z o.o. for liquid level
indicator series HCK-GL, Pepperl + Fuchs Sp. z o.o. the positioning system PGV. The competition jury
chaired by Mr. Anthony Kalukiewicz, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Robotics,
AGH.
For long-term cooperation and invaluable assistance the aforementioned exhibitors were
awarded together with the industry magazines, CETOP European Committee of Hydraulics and
Pneumatics, Corporation of Drives and Controls of Hydraulic and Pneumatic, Association of Polish
Engineers, Technicians and Mechanics and Mrs. Isabella Tarasewicz from “Hydraulika i Pneumatyka”
magazine.
