A. Project Status: (600 words maximum)
Provide a title and summary of the project for which you seek outside funding, including:
The status of the project in terms of completed work (chapters in MS, portions previously published), work to
be completed during the tenure of the major grant, if it is awarded, and any work that you anticipate will be
accomplished following the grant period.
B. Grant Opportunity (applications due fall 2016 and/or spring 2017):
Name the major grant(s), the criteria, the award amount, and the proposal deadline.

Social Science Research Council, National Humanities Center, and the Fulbright Distinguished Chair program. This list is
not exhaustive, but captures the emphasis on competitive, peer reviewed, prestigious awards.
C. Budget and Summer Research Plan: (300 words maximum)
You may request up to $2,000 in your budget as a writing stipend to support time to prepare the research
narrative that will be part of your grant submission. The stipend is considered taxable income. Up to a
maximum of $5,000 (including the stipend) may be requested to support archival or other research related
expenses that will advance the project described in section A. Please provide details on travel and living
expenses in relation to any archival or site specific research.
