The Bibliographic Record
Add to the end of History tab definition: “System supplied”.
The Marc Format for Holdings Record
“General Information”
Revision:
Delete paragraph beginning, “New mfhd records are created by use of templates…” .
Add a link to a new section on template creation.
“MARC tab: fixed fields. System supplied: do not edit.”
“Bib Title(s) Tab: … System supplied.”
“History Tab: … System supplied.”
“Creating and Editing Mfhd Records”
Brbl: Assigns uncat call number at time of accession. This call number changes when
materials are cataloged, and old call number may be recorded in a nonpublic note field.
Records oversize and other special storage locations following call number in |i.
Div: Assigns call number at time of accession, and does not change call number.
Mss/Archs: Assigns call number at time of accession, and does not change call number.
Uses inhouse locator database for recording special storage locations.
Mus: Generally does not use nonpublic or public note fields. Uses LSF barcoding for
recording special storage locations.
Revision:
Add call number examples from other repositories.
“Linkage Number (014) … This field will not appear in records created in Voyager.”
“Location (852)”: Delete last sentence in 1st indicator, beginning “All BRBL…”
|i examples: delete section beginning “If everything represented by the call number…”
and examples following this.
