Homework Task
Year 7 – Medieval Monarchs
Task:
To create a Biography detailing the life of one key Medieval King
or Queen from the following list:
 William the Conqueror, Queen Matilda, King John,
Richard the Lionheart.
Objective:
To show a knowledge and understanding of the Monarch you have
chosen, using a range of evidence to complete the story.

Knowledge and understanding of events

Historical enquiry (use of sources)
Organisation and communication
Suggested activities:
 Gather as much evidence as you can about your King or Queen
 Look at their lives, their religion, their children, their
significance – including key events and their Legacy
Make sure you include pictures
Select, copy and use details from the evidence you have
gathered to support what happened
Present your work in a booklet or poster-style
Learning checklist – have you…
 Put the information in chronological order?
 Shown that you have a good understanding of events?
 Organised and presented your work clearly?
 Included a range of evidence
You will have a number of weeks to complete this project. Your
teacher will give you a deadline date. You must hand your work on
or before this date. A departmental after school detention will
be given if the project is not handed in on time.
Please remember research is a key History skill.
We cannot award a level for copy and paste.
