Formative Assessment in Affective Areas
20 & 21 November 2013
(2-day workshop)
This November, Dr Ong is presenting the above new workshop in an area of need for teachers.
Current trends in assessment focus on judging students’ learning progress - not just how well
they perform in the traditional summative evaluations. Assessment of students on how well they
progress along the learning journey is a perspective that is underpinned by the belief that
learning should be developed and assessed through various forms of formative assessment for
learning and assessment of learning. Assessment in the affective areas poses a challenge to
many teachers - how do they know that their students have learnt and are growing in the
affective domain?
