Non-explosive demolition agent
Pyylahti can now offer a new type of soundless non-explosive demolition agent to its clients. This
product has been developed with the help of Japanese know-how and technology and it is calibrated
to work most efficiently in Northern European climate, i.e. where the rock/concrete temperature is
between +5 C and +25C (inside of the rock). Our demolition agent is being sold to professional
mining companies only and according to wholesale principle.
* Non-explosive demolition agent is a soundless, safe and easy-to-use product. It creates no risk
to vibration sensitive near-by buildings or constructions (hospitals, historic places etc.)
* As non-explosive, soundless and safe demolition agent, it provides the most technically
suitable, environmental friendly and cost-effective alternative solution in dimensional stone
application.
* It is used for decreasing waste of resource in mining stones such as marble, granite and so on. It
is also suitable to dig or destroy several of reinforced concrete buildings.
How to use our demolition agent

First drill the holes in the object you wish to crack. Make sure there is no water in the holes.
Pour 1,5 litres of cold (max. +20 C) clean water into the plastic bucket
Mix 5 kg of demolition agent with water and make sure all the powder is well mixed.
Fill the boreholes within 10 minutes and cover the object in case of rain or hot sunlight.
First cracks will appear within 24 hours but do not start hammering until min. 48 hours after
pouring. The demolition agent works slowly and full effect can be seen after 48-72 hours.
Too early hammering will affect the expansion process negatively and might even stop it.
Use safety goggles, gloves and dust-proof mask when working with demolition agent. After the
boreholes are filled, make sure you clean the bucket and tools well. Demolition agent will heat
up during the process and may cause damage if left in plastic containers etc.
Tips
* In order to obtain best results, it's advisable to carry out experiment at first.
* When using our demolition agent with highly absorbent materials like concrete, the holes
should be dampened before the mortar is poured, making sure however that there is no presence
of water.
* Large diameter holes positioned closer together accelerate breaking times.
* Make sure the holes are clean and no water and residues left in the holes, or use highpressure air hose to clean out.
* Fresh demolition agent should be poured into holes within 10 minutes after mixing.
* Do not mix more than 2 bags ( 10 kg ) for each lot at a time.
* The feeding depth should be 100% of the pre-drilled holes.
* Never use glass or metal containers for mixing.
* Cover holes to avoid direct sunlight and rain
Precautionary Measures
* Expansive mortar is a highly alkaline product, pH reaches 13 after contact with water and
can cause severe irritation to mucous membranes, especially eyes. Skin and eye contacts with
the agent must be rinsed off with large amounts of cold water immediately without rubbing.
Consult a doctor quickly.
* Wear safety goggles, rubber gloves and dust-proof mask during demolition agent handling,
mixing and filling. Dust-proof mask is recommended especially in poorly ventilated areas such
as tunnels or mines.
* Take care of fall of cracked block from the cracking object.
