NATURE OF MY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ARE AS BELOW:PROJECT WPS QUALIFICATION & WELDER APPROVAL:Involved in the Preparation and Conducting the Qualifications of Welding Procedure Procedures, based on Client
Specifications and International Codes and Standards. After the approval of the AFC WPS, conducted Welder
Qualification Test (WQT). Prepared the WQT Records and Welder ID cards and get them signed off by the
CLIENT Inspector. Issued the copy of Welder ID to all Project Welders.
WELDING EQUIPMENTS RECEIVING INSPECTION:Once the welding machines are arrived at site, then I used to obtain from the head QA office the calibration
certificates when the validity still valid. When expired, we site calibrate the welding machine and develop the QC
records/stickers as applicable. We also functional check all applicable Construction Equipments as Internal and
external clamps, monitor the crane lifting functionality test on site prior to use on project, side booms, ensure
pressure gauges are calibrated and certificate available on site.
WELDING OVENS AND CONSUMABLES:Ensure prior to start of project that the baking, holding and portable ovens are calibrated. I ensure that the
welding consumables/flux have the materials certificate.
WELDING INSTRUMENTS CALIBRATION:I always ensure that the fit-up hi-lo gauge and Welding gauge is available. Also ensure that Clamp meter(to
check ampre/volt), pyro-meter (to check temperature) are having valid calibration certificates and stickers on the
instruments.
REMOTE WELDING CONDITIONS:Ensure that QC procedures are provided to important construction personnel and the WPS is displayed at the
site prior to welding. We brief to all welders the type of electrodes to be used to the welding and brief the when
type of clamps to be used and when this is to be removed.
We ensure that the ideal welding booth are set out so that un-due atmospheric air or dust/contamination would
not interpret during the welding. We brief to the welder that pre-heat is getting cooled at remote areas and so we
ask the welder to be sure of pre-heat maintenance during welding.
BEFORE/DURING/AFTER WELDING INSPECTION:Carrying out Visual Welding Inspection on the Main Line, Tie-In & Repair Welds of both Automatic Welding and
Manual Welding. Ensure all parameters and variables are followed during welding as per the approved WPS and
ensure the current revision of WPS is displayed at the welding booth. Check the fit-up and hi-lo conditions that is
accepted and released for welding. Any undue fit up conditions shall be hold and reported to the QC
Supervisors. Pre-heat conditions must be accepted by me as well the CLIENT/TPI. Check the root pass and ok,
release to filling passes. Check inter-pass temperatures and finally check capping passes and weld profiles
accepted to code API 1104.
RADIOGRAPHY AND NDT:A NDT request shall be prepared and provided to the NDT Supervisor. Ensure the NDT is carried out in a daily
basis. The NDT Coverage for pipeline 100%. Coordinating with the NDE Crew for carrying out the Tests as per
the Approved ITP, Code and Specs. Interpretation and Evaluation of Test Results in coordination with the
Client’s Inspectors.
REPAIR THE REPAIRED JOINTS AND REPEAT NDT:Any repair is found in radiograph, it is marked on the joints through the tracing paper and get it repaired. Ensure
that the repair is carried out prior to Field coating and before lowering and back filling. This is strictly monitored.
WELDER PERFORMANCE MONITORING:Actively involved in Bringing down and Containing the Repair Rates in Both Automatic and Manual Welds. Each
welder is monitored on the result of radiography/UT result. If any welder is exceeding 4% (My company weld
reject objective) it is then reported to the Welding Engineer who will take appropriate action on the Welder.
PUNCH LISTING CLEARANCE & HYDRO-TEST:Actively walking all along the constructed pipeline and punch listing any remaining activities prior to hydro-test.
Punch list is reported to the Supervisor and a timely action is initiated prior to hydro-testting the line. Involved in
the preparation of Hydro Test Packages documentation and submitted to CLIENT before the hydro-test. Take
also active part along with Project Engineer in the hydro-test preparation. Once the CLIENT shall clear the
hydro-test documentation package, the flooding and pressure increase carried out in increments as stated in the
approved procedure. Monitor the line all along for any Leaks during the intermittent holding times. Once the
maximum pressure is reached, it is held for the period as per procedure and monitor for any leaks or reduction in
pressure. Once the HT is successful, the records are sigend off by the QC and CLIENT/TPI.
FINAL DOCUMENTATION:The final documentation shall be prepared including all the QC relevant records, as built red marked drawing
and issued to the CLIENT/TPI for final approval. The package is retained with our company also for a specified
period.

Ensure Project Materials and Equipments being received. Receiving Inspection & Report quality of the materials for
physical damage, internal pitting, corrosion/severe rusting, out of dia/ovalitty/thickness reduction if any etc. Ensure
Material Test Certificate)

Monitor Welding Consumable Control (Ensure Consumable are to AFC WPS & baked at Oven) and review its test
certificates confirms to AWS and ASTM and COMPANY Spec.

Monitor Document and Record Control (Ensure all deliverables are registered & approved and available onsite as
WPSs, ITP, Fabrication Procedures, Painting/Coating Procedures, Hydro-testing & Stress Relieving (PWHT)
Procedures, NDT Procedures Materials and Consumable Control/Handling Procedure etc)

Ensure WPS/PQR Qualification & Welder Qualification WQT and Approval Process etc

Witness Hydro-testing being carried out to approved procedure and to the pressure requirements/hold time
maintained and recorded at charts as applicable.
Check Mechanical Completion, Supervise for Punch List Clearance and ensure/assist for as-built drawing/weld
maps carried out.


Ensure Welder Performance Monitoring and try to maintain at the KPI (Key point indicator Project Repair Rate 2-3%
or strict to as stated at the Contract

NCR,Close Out. Involve at corrective Action Process for the close out of NCRs.

Approval of the final Quality Control Documentation etc. while strictly following all key fab/Construction & NDT
procedures & AFC WPS, Quality Plans, ITPs, AFC Drawing and COMPANY Specifications and International codes
& Standards for acceptance criteria’s from API 1104, ASME B31.3, ASME B31.8, ASME IX & V.
