End of term arrangements
Parrot Club Cake stall after school on Tuesday 27th March
On the last day of term, Thursday 28th March, we will be celebrating
Easter with a variety of events.
Easter hat parade: each child is invited to create a hat on the
theme of Easter or Spring. These will be ‘modelled’ by the child in a
special parade. The winner from each class will receive a prize as
well as being photographed for the newspaper.
Easter Egg hunt: there will be a slightly different activity this year
based on the theme of an Easter Egg hunt. Please let us know if
your child is unable to eat chocolate so that we can find a good
option for them. If you are a member of the PTFA, please do come
along and help out from 9am.
Celebration Assembly: you are warmly invited to this final
assembly for the term from 2.50 pm on Thursday 28th March.
Reminders:
Vision testing Year R – please return the slip if you have not already done
so.
Maths workshop – we have only received two replies to our invitation to
an evening maths workshop. We are often asked to hold parents’
information meetings in the evening time but this poor response maybe
shows that they are not wanted. Please can you let us know if you would
like to attend and which date suits you best so that we can plan a date.
War Memorial Project
Some of you will remember that the children of the school were involved in
producing designs for the memorial which is planned for Watchet. This week,
there is another activity related to the planned memorial and the older children will
be working with Pete Stevenson on an art project and also finding out more about
the families of those who died. The intention of the Watchet Memorial Project is
to compile an archive of all the stories, pictures, and ancestry into a book which
would be given to the schools, library and museum. The actual Remembrance
Garden and Memorial will be unveiled on Saturday 28th June 2014.
As part of this project, we are asking our children’s families if they have any
connection with the following names:
