The Wild West
‘We believe our curriculum should inspire dreams and aspirations by the help of God, rooted
in access to him through Jesus and in the Holy Spirit and encouraged by every achievement
that He will grant.
Overview:
This topic is focusing on geographical skills such as using maps to locate information and
plotting routes. We will also be looking at the history of America and how the early pioneers
moved west as well as their relations with the Native American Indians.

Native American Workshop 12th January – Lead be Native Indians children will experience
the culture of the indigenous people of the Americas.
Celebration day 6th February – Parents /Carers are welcome to join us in the afternoon for
the children to share with them their learning journey this term.

Our topic this term is ‘Sound’ we will be
looking at what makes sound and how the
human ear works.
Geography/History:
Children will learn about finding America using
an Atlas and how the map of America changed as
the Pioneers moved west in the 19th century. We
will explore what life was like both for the pioneers
and the natives in America at the time.
RE:
This term in Religious Education we will be looking
at the theme of Journeys – children will be looking
at what the word ‘journeys’ means for them and
some famous journeys that happened in the Bible.
