Literacy & Topic
This week we have been looking at a variety of common 2D
shapes. The children have been naming the shapes, as well as
describing them by focussing on their properties.
Furthermore, they could sort and draw a variety of common
2D shapes and, in addition, even had the chance to construct
them. Please see our website page for lots of fantastic
pictures. Our Key Vocabulary –vertices, corners, sides,
edges, properties
This week in Literacy we have linked all of our writing ideas
together about the Monkey Puzzle and produced our ‘Big
Writes’. The children will be looking forward to see their
feedback and assessed level for writing. Also, the children have
been explaining different types of punctuation and when and
why we use them.
In Topic we have completed the design of our bedroom door
signs and looked at creating a strong base. The children used
their creative skills to paper-mache and paint their designs.
Next week the children are really looking forward to
decorating their product more as they watch it come to life!

treasure chest.
Your child will also be sent home with a Learning Journal. This must
be returned on daily basis so that it can be updated with homework.

A Topic activity
Children must come to school with a coat,

Your child has been set with a ‘Term 2’ project on a new theme
of dinosaurs. Please see the website to view this homework.
