SENIOR MANUFACTURING ENGINEER (WALLINGFORD, CT)
Reporting to the Director of Manufacturing, the person will have constant interaction with the design, assembly, and
quality teams as well as with the senior management.

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will develop and implement optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes
and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. She or he will recommend and
implement improvements to production processes, methods and controls and will coordinate manufacturing launch
for new or revised products.
Responsibilities:
 Evaluates and develops innovative manufacturing methods and systems which ensure technological
advantage and competitiveness through process capability and control.
 Analyzes and plans resource utilization, space requirements, workflow, and equipment layouts, for
maximum production throughput and optimum visibility.
 Plays a lead role on cross-functional, concurrent engineering design teams ensuring optimal design for
manufacture, assembly, and quality.
 Works with design, production operators, and other manufacturing disciplines to continuously improve
cost, quality, and delivery.
 Responsible for smooth production ramp-ups of new products ensuring all customers’ requirements are met
or exceeded.
 Provides performance data for monitoring operational, quality, and product cost metrics.
 Advises on process capabilities and limitations to ensure alignment between product design and production.
 Plans and implements improved component designs and manufacturing processes.
 Works cross-functionally analyzing rejected materials to determine root cause and implement corrective
actions.
 Interfaces with outside suppliers as necessary to ensure design specifications and quality expectations are
met.
 Creates in process and incoming inspection guidelines as needed.
 Advises management on logistical considerations and their influence on cycle time, transportation and
product costs.
 Administers workplace safety processes as defined by Occupational Safety and Health Administrator and
industry guidelines.
 Manages hazardous waste distribution and disposal to ensure compliance with EPA and other regulatory
requirements.

strong motivation to grow with the organization. We look for someone who is comfortable in a fast paced, dynamic
work environment and is not intimidated by change. A highly collaborative approach and a strong commitment to
continuous improvement and Root Cause Corrective Action is required.
Key requirements:
 5+ years of experience and hands-on skills, preferably in a commercial high-volume manufacturing
environment.

Knowledge of Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques.
Experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software.
Education: preferably a degree in Industrial, Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or other
engineering discipline with relevant work experience (BS, MS level)
Planning: ability to think ahead and plan over a 3-6 month time span.
Management: ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
Technical skills in manufacturing processes and methods including flow, layout, assembly and production
equipment.
Product development.
Quality orientation and attention to detail.
Problem analysis and problem resolution.
Able to train production associates in process and inspection techniques.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
A strong team player comfortable contributing in a high performance team.
