Nuapara District: According to IMD Bhubaneswar no rain is expected from 02.11.2013 to 06.11.13. Sky will remain almost clear on
02.11.13 to 06.11.13. Wind will blow from S-E and S-W direction with speed of 002- 003 km/hr. Maximum temperature will vary
around 310C and minimum temperature will be around 16-170C. Maximum RH will vary between 83-84% and minimum RH will vary
between 40-43%.

Agro met - Advisory (For Nuapara District)
1. Go for transplanting of Rabi vegetable crops.
2. Keep water in paddy field upto 2.5 to 5.0cm upto milking stage. Maintain saturation at grain filling stage. Drain water at ripening
stage.
3. Harvest paddy, maize and cotton as sunny days are ahead upto 06.11.13.
Kharif paddy:
1. The direct seeded paddy crop is at harvesting stage. Drain water from field at ripening stage. Harvest the crop when 80% of grain
ripens.
2. The transplanted paddy crop is at fourteen to fifteen week stage. The medium and late duration paddy is at milking to soft dough
stage and early duration paddy is at ripening to harvesting stage. Drain water from field at ripening stage. Harvest when 80% of
grain ripens.
3. Stem borer attack has been noticed during this period in paddy. Spray with monocrotophos / chloropyriphos @2ml/lit water.
Sugarcane:
1. The sugarcane plant is at grand growth stage (thirty four to thirty six week stage).
2. Red rot disease in sugarcane occurs at grand growth stage. Bunding of affected field should be done to avoid movement of rain or
irrigation from affected field to non affected field. Destroy trashes from the infected plant by burning and spray carbendazim
@2g/lit of water. Severely affected plants or canes should be uprooted and destroyed.
Maize:
1. The crop is at harvesting stage. Go for harvesting the matured and sundry for 2-3days. Shelling should be done with power maize
sheller or manual sheller. Again dry the crops to bring the moisture content to 10-12% for safe storage.
Cotton:
1. Pluck cotton from matured bolls and sundry for 3-4 days.
2. The crop is at seventeen to nineteen week (flowering, boll formation to boll bursting stage) stage. To monitor the movement of
spodoptera use spodo lure in pheromone trap @ 2nos per acre.
3. Spray Acephate 2g/lit along of water to control Jassids in cotton.
Arhar:
1. The crop is at flowering to pod formation (seventeen to nineteen week) stage.
Green gram and Blackgram :
1. The crop is at flower bud initiation (five to six) week stage.
Vegetables:
1. Go for transplanting rabi vegetables. Transplanted tomato, cabbage and cauliflower are at one to two week stage.
2. The onion seedlings are at 6-7 week in nursery bed. Transplanting should be done with 6-8 week seedlings at spacing of 30cm row
to row and 10-15cm plant to plant within the row. Apply 43kg DAP, 27kg urea, 33kg MOP and 20kg sulphur per acre.
