Kalahandi District: According to IMD Bhubaneswar 28.0mm cumulative rain of light intensity is expected from 26.10.2013 to
30.10.13. Sky will remain over cloudy on 26.10.13 to 28.10.13 and mainly cloudy on 29.10.13 and partly cloudy on 30.10.13. Wind
will blow from N-E and S-E direction with speed of 003- 005 km/hr. Maximum temperature will vary around 28-320C and minimum
temperature will be around 18-200C. Maximum RH will vary between 96-98% and minimum RH will vary between 66-72%.

Agro met - Advisory (For Kalahandi District)
1. Go for transplanting of rabi vegetable crops.
2. Keep water in paddy field upto 2.5 to 5.0cm upto milking stage. Maintain saturation at grain filling stage. Drain water at ripening
stage.
3. Hharvest maize and cotton and Carry the harvested produce to safe place and stop irrigation to paddy and sugarcane as light rain is
expected during this period.
Kharif paddy:
1. The direct seeded paddy crop is at ripening stage. Drain water from field at ripening stage. Harvest the crop when 80% of grain
ripens.
2. The transplanted paddy crop is at thirteen to fifteen week stage. The medium and late duration paddy is at flowering to milking
stage and early duration paddy is at grain filling to ripening stage. Drain water from field at ripening stage. Harvest when 80% of
grain ripens.
3. Stem borer attack has been noticed during this period in paddy. Spray with monocrotophos / chloropyriphos @2ml/lit water after.
4. To control BPH spray buprofezin 25% SC 800ml/ha.
5. Sheath blight infestation occurs during this period. To control sheath blight in paddy spray hexaconazole 1000ml/ha.
Sugarcane:
1. The sugarcane plant is at grand growth stage (thirty three to thirty five week stage).
3. Red rot disease in sugarcane occurs at grand growth stage. Bunding of affected field should be done to avoid movement of rain or
floodwater from affected field to non affected field. Destroy trashes from the infected plant by burning and spray carbendazim
@2g/lit of water. Severely affected plants or canes should be uprooted and destroyed.
Maize:
1. The crop is at harvesting stage. Go for harvesting the matured cobs and Carry the harvested produce to safe place to save from rain
damage. Shelling should be done with power maize sheller or manual sheller. Again dry the crops to bring the moisture content to
10-12% for safe storage.
Cotton:
1. Pluck cotton from matured bolls and Carry to sfe place.
2. The crop is at sixteen to eighteen week (flowering, boll formation to boll bursting stage) stage. To monitor the movement of
spodoptera use spodo lure in pheromone trap @ 2nos per acre.
3. Spray Acephate 2g/lit along with stcker 0.5ml/lit of water to control Jassids in cotton
4. Go for spraying 2% DAP for better boll development.
Arhar:
1. The crop is at grand growth to flower initiation (sixteen to eighteen) stage.
Green gram and Blackgram :
1. The crop is at four to five week stage. Spray chloropyriphos@2ml/ lit water to control leaf eating caterpillar.
Vegetables:
1. Go for transplanting rabi vegetables.Transplanted tomato, cabbage and cauliflower is at seedling establishment(one week) stage.
2. The rabi crops are in nursery bed is at five to six week stage.
