Hopper and Dual Nozzle
The old language (on Page 17 of 23) under “Catch Basin Cleaner” reads:
An 8-inch (203mm) inside diameter, 12-foot (3,658mm) long hydraulic wandering hose capable of deep
cleaning catch basins shall be provided. This catch basin cleaning hose shall be either top-mounted or
located at the rear of the machine.

COMPLIES WITH SPECIFICATIONS?
Two 34-½” x 43-½” screens, for a total screen area of 3000
square inches, of not less than 11-gauge steel shall be
installed to allow air to move freely from the hopper into the
blower area. The hopper screens shall be hinged and pinned
to allow easy clean out.
The front section of the hopper must cover the auxiliary
engine, and must be constructed of heavy fiberglass. This
fiberglass cover consists of a roof section and two fiberglass
side doors that allow access to many serviceable items for
ease of maintenance. All these items must be accessible
without tilting the hopper.
The hopper shall cover the main water tank of the water
system and will provide easy access to the water system
components.
The hopper shall have hopper cut-outs at each side of the
hopper. These cut-outs provide easy access to the quick
disconnect section on the suction nozzle and allow the
suction hose and nozzle to have side-way movement for
establishing more suction power at the curb.
Hopper shall include a drain hose and de-watering valve,
located on the lower portion of the rear door, to enable water
logged & water pooled loads to be drained off. The hose will
be stowed on its own stowage bracket when not in use.
In addition to the standard outside controls for dumping, incab hopper dump controls shall be provided.
Catch Basin Cleaner
An 12-inch inside diameter, 12-foot (3,658mm) long
hydraulic wandering hose capable of deep cleaning catch
basins shall be provided. This catch basin cleaning hose
shall be either top-mounted or located at the rear of the
machine.
It shall have an 12” inside diameter x 5’ long catch basin
nozzle with water injection system for dust control.
It shall be equipped with dual push button fingertip hydraulic
control (pendant type preferred) to raise and lower
movement of the nozzle.
It shall be equipped with a rear auxiliary engine throttle
control.
The hose shall be constructed of heavy-duty rubber. Plastic
hoses will not be acceptable.
Hydraulic inlet changeover plates shall automatically
accomplish conversion from sweeper-mode to catch basin
cleaner operation.
Two 4-foot (minimum), aluminum nozzle extensions
mounted at the rear of the sweeper for the wandering hose
shall be provided.
Spray Water System
The standard water system capacity shall be 335-gallons
(minimum).
A work platform shall be included with the above additional
water tank so as to provide a work area between the tank
and the rear auxiliary engine.
