Some format notes on the word study.
Italicize words used as words, e.g., “Whenever charis is used in the New Testament...”; “Grace is a
favorite word for Paul.”
Remove quotation marks from definitions where rewording (e.g., expansion) was done.
In definitions, delete # references to other related words if those words themselves are not supplied.
In definitions, expand abbreviations, or delete them if they don’t help the English reader. Abbreviations
include idiom. (= idiomatic[ally]), impl. (= implication), figur. (= figure or figuratively),
metaph. (= metaphor[ically]).
In definitions, expand the symbols:
:- to “This word is translated in the King James as....”
x to “This word is used in a Greek/Hebrew idiom to mean....”
+ to “This word, used in conjunction with another word, is translated as....”
