From May 1999 to June 2003 Resource economist in a study on the economic impacts of economic crisis and policy changes on Forestry Sector in Indonesia. The study is sponsored by Mac Arthur Foundation, USA and is being conducted by a CSIS team. From January 1999 to November 1999 Microeconomic Specialist in a CSIS team to study the impact of globalization on employment in the modern sector. The specific duty was to assess the impact of globalization on wages in the modern formal sector in Indonesia. The study was commissioned by ILO. From August 1998 to February 1999 Resource Economist in a study conducted jointly by CSIS and the Indonesian Institute for Energy Economics (IIEE) to investigate the main strategy for the development of domestic natural gas in Indonesia. The main objective of the study was to assess economic benefit from the increase domestic use of natural gas as a substitute for oil products and to propose policy changes necessary to achieve such an objective. From November 1997 to April 1998 Involved in a study conducted by a CSIS team to investigate Indonesia’s industry competitiveness. The 3 main objective of project was to assess the competitiveness of the Indonesia’s manufacturing sector. Similar studies were also undertaken in other ASEAN countries, e.g., the Philippines and Thailand. From August 1997 to March 1998 Resource Economist, to assess the economic implication on local community of establishing a marine recreational park in Nusa Penida, Bali. The assessment study was a part of study about Nusa Penida Management Plan for Marine Recreational Park conducted by PT Ardes Perdana for the Department of Forestry. From May 1997 to November 1997 Resource Economist to help Center for Oceanography Research – Indonesian Institute of Science (P3O – LIPI) to develop guidelines regarding community based management, and community awareness and participation for Coral Reef Rehabilitation and Management Project (COREMAP). From March 1996 to December 1996 Resource Economist for COREMAP, and was responsible for conducting resource valuation of coral reef areas within the COREMAP areas and for assessing economic implication to local communities of coral reef rehabilitation project in those areas. The study was conducted by AMSAT Ltd., (Australia) PT ECOLINK (Indonesia). From July 1995 to April 1996 Resource Economist in the CSIS team for ASEAN Country Study on Trade and Environment Linkages. The study was intended to assess linkages between trade and environment; the economic benefit of applying polluter pays principle (PPP) in Indonesia; and the role of product standards, such as ISO 14000 and eco-labeling, in environmental and trade policies. The study was sponsored by the ASEAN Secretariat. From February 1995 to August 1995 Resources Economist in a PT Wahanabhakti Persadajaya team working on the Coastal Environmental Management Planning (CEMP) project. Responsible for conducting resource valuation of coastal areas within the CEMP project areas and for assessing various economic activities that may be introduced in those areas. The project was funded by ADB (ADB TA-2053 INO).
