Atlantic with a warm and friendly population of 4,500, St Helena is a selfgoverning overseas territory of the UK, poised for transformation with the construction of an airport due to be operational in early 2016. The 35-bed

General Hospital in the capital, Jamestown, covers all areas of acute medical and surgical care.

You will divide your time between radiographic and ultrasound duties, professional development of the assistant practitioner and participating in clinical and staff meetings and CPD events. Delivering high quality imaging services and maintaining the current high radiographic standard you will make use of the electronic management information system and give radiographic support to the dental section as required. Equipment includes Shimadzu MobilArt Evolution portable machines, Pamarex OPT dental machine, Toshiba Xario and Phillips CX 50. You will send x-ray images for reporting and put the reports on patients’ records. Distant telemedicine advice will be available if requested, with transmission of digital images to overseas specialists. You must undertake reject analysis and other regular audits, recording and forwarding the daily workload.

You must be a State Registered Radiographer holding BSc (Hons) in

Diagnostic Radiography or a Diploma from the College of Radiographers plus a Diploma in Ultrasound. Demonstrable experience in degree student assessment/training is desirable, with evidence of teaching. Substantial post-qualification experience in general radiography and ultrasound should be supported by knowledge of PACS and the ability to work with automatic processing, stationary grids and manual exposure factors
