RESEARCH INTERESTS
A. Electrochemistry:





Electrodeposition of nanocrystalline coating on industrially important metals by DC
Plating and pulse plating.
Fuctionalization of electrodes (modification of electrode) for the analysis of ultra-trace
elements and organic pollutants.
Development of eco-friendly inhibitors for corrosion protection of precious metals and
their electrochemical measurements.
Electrochemical treatment of waste water.
Kinetic study of important biological compounds using spectroscopic and
electrochemical techniques.
B. Nanotechnology
 Synthesis and characterization of hierarchical mesoporous nanoparticles such as oxides
and different forms of carbon for waste water remediation.
 Development high performance battery materials and energy conversion devices.
AWARDS/HONORS
‘Best paper award in 2008’ by Materials Research Society of India (MRSI) for the paper
entitled ‘Studies on nanocrystalline zinc coating’. Published in “Bulletin of Material Sciences”
