Concerning Student Government participation in the University of Cincinnati Diversity
Conference

Whereas the University of Cincinnati will host its second-annual Diversity Conference
on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 from 8am – 5pm, and

Whereas the one-day conference is designed to “highlight experiential knowledge and
practices that encourage individuals and organizations to build vibrant, diverse and
inclusive environments,” and
3
Whereas the keynote speakers will be Lee Gardenswartz, an expert in Diversity across
the country, and Marvin Lewis, head coach for the reigning AFC North Division
Champion Cincinnati Bengals, and
4
Whereas 23 concurrent diversity sessions will be presented along with entertainment
from the MUSE Women’s Choir and Firelytes, and
5
Whereas the Marian Spencer Diversity Ambassador Awards will be presented during
the conference, and

Whereas Student Government, as both leaders on campus and representatives of the
Student Body, have a commitment to expanding their knowledge of diversity on
campus and as a whole, and
7
Therefore be it appropriated that $250 be allocated from the Conferences line of the
Leadership Development Fund to co-sponsor 10 Student Government representatives
to attend the Diversity Conference.
