The 13th International Fair of Stone and Stone Machinery INTERKAMIEŃ was held in
Kielce on 26-28 March 2008.
The exhibition provided an opportunity to view a wide variety of sandstones, limestones,
marbles, cutting tools, abrasive and maintenance materials, as well as whole stone
processing technological lines, in addition to many pieces of equipment used in the
stone industry. INTERKAMIEŃ featured products displayed not only by Polish
exhibitors, but also by representatives of companies operating in Lithuania, Iran, France,
Holland, Israel, Portugal, Austria, China, and Italy. During the exhibition held at Kielce
Trade Fairs, visitors could also see stone semi-products and finished products,
equipment for the processing and production of decorative stones, measurement
devices and computer hardware, as well as materials for stone conservation and
maintenance.
Owing to the special character of this industry and the exhibited range of products and
services, the Kielce fair is one of Poland's few events of this kind. Although it is not a
large-scale exhibition, it is worth visiting, especially by representatives of stone
processing companies, architects, building investors and contractors, as well as by
individual customers. It is at the Kielce exhibition that the latest information related to the
prevailing trends and innovation emerging on the market is available. There are also
opportunities to talk with stone professionals from different countries.
It is not coincidental that an exhibition devoted to the stone industry is organized in
Kielce, as the Świętokrzyskie region is rich in construction raw materials such as
sandstone, marble and limestone. The resources of these rocks are large and easy to
extract. Therefore Kielce makes a perfect place for holding a trade fair dedicated to this
industry. It is a venue for meetings attended by experts, building industry professionals,
stone users and producers as well as investors. The International Fair of Stone and
Stone Machinery INTERKAMIEŃ features products and services typical of three fields:
natural stone, architecture and building industry.
The programme of the INTERKAMIEŃ fair also included a scientific conference on
"Stone in the Building Industry".
The 13th International Fair of Stone and Stone Machinery INTERKAMIEŃ was held
simultaneously with the International Fair of Glass and Ceramics Production and
Processing PROGLASS, which is the first event dedicated to this industry in Poland, and
by the Exhibition of Metalworking and Metal Machining STOM.
