Description
Customer Sited Interconnect (CSI) provides you with the ability to offer PSTN
(Public Switch Telephone Network) telephony and data services to your
customers, via a 2Mbit/s connection between a BT switch and your switch.
You can then benefit from Call Origination and Call Termination on BTs PSTN
network.
This product offers a two way connection between you and BT, with both
parties contending for these circuits. The circuits are cost shared in relation to
the ownership of the calls carried.

Commercial/Regulatory
CSI Interconnect Circuits are a regulatory product offered to other
Communication Providers (CPs) and require a 90 day notification for a price
change.

Network
BT provides the capital investment and installs all the cables and transmission
equipment necessary to bring the product into service.
Various options for CSI delivery are available. Separate charges apply for
these options:


High Performance CSI

CSI via PPC Facility Mux
To complete your CSI interconnection, 2 Mbit/s Intra-Building Circuits (IBCs)
are also required at the BT exchange to provide connectivity to the BT switch.
Separate charges apply for the IBC.

How Is The Product Invoiced
Interconnect Circuits are priced under the Network Charge Control (NCC)
regime within the Interconnect Specific basket of the NCC whereby the basket
has to comply with an overall RPI-x% per annum price cap (where “x” is the
controlling percentage).
CSI Interconnect is invoiced in advance based on circuit volumes at the start
of the period. Adjustments are applied to each invoice to ensure all circuit
changes (provisions, ceases & rearrangements) during the previous period
are accurately invoiced.

Customer Sited Interconnect (CSI) Link and an Intra-Building Circuit (IBC)

CSI Circuit Rearrangements
Circuit rearrangements attract individual per rearrangement charges.
CSI Cost Share
As CSI Interconnection offers a two way connection with both parties
contending for the circuits, the charges are cost shared based on the
ownership of the calls carried. This is provided as an adjustment on the bill.
CSI Connection Charge Rebate
Depending on the age of a circuit being ceased it may qualify for a proportion
of the original connection charge paid to be rebated.

What Do You See
Invoices are prepared and despatched at the beginning of each period. An
example CSI invoice can be found at from the SIMPLE menu.
Two invoicing options are available:
 For those customers wishing to receive a full invoice, it will
consist of a summary sheet together with a breakdown of each
circuit and how it is being charged. These are despatched by
post.
 Alternatively, if a customer wishes the data in electronic format,
the summary sheet is despatched by post and an MS Excel file
that provides the circuit breakdown is sent via e-mail.
