CONVENTIONAL MICROSCOPY NOTES
Viewing a Specimen (Transmitted)
1. Move reflective slider to left until at last of three positions.
2. Rotate condenser to either position 'DIC .5-1.4' or 'DIC .1-.3'
corresponding to the numerical aperture of the selected objective.
3. Rotate top polarizer out of light path.
4. Click on 'T' under Conv in Control Panel window.
5. Turn on halogen light source next to microscope and adjust intensity.
6. Focus on sample.
7. Align the condenser. (see transmitted light notes)
Viewing a Specimen (Single Fluorescence)
1. Move reflective slider to left to either middle position or rightmost
position. (middle position for red emission / rightmost for green emission)
2. Click on 'FL' under Conv in Control Panel window.
3. Focus on sample.
