The Faculty of Agriculture, University of Mauritius, in collaboration with the Mauritius Research
Council (under the aegis of the Ministry of Tertiary Education, Science, Research and
Technology), is pleased to invite the public in general and researchers who have Innovative
Ideas with Commercial Potential, to the Business Angels Forum in the field of
Agribusiness/Food Industry.
Aims of the Forum:
 To allow participants to present and discuss their commercially viable ideas to potential
investors
 To provide a platform to link Business Angels (Investors) with participants having
commercially viable ideas
Areas/Themes:
Innovative ideas for a business in an Agribusiness/Food Industry can be in any of the following:
 New products
 New techniques
 New processes
 New services
 New machinery/equipment
 Agro-waste reuse/recycling
How to register?
You may either register online at http://www.uom.ac.mu/sites/BusinessAngels/ or collect the
form from the Faculty Registry and address it to the Business Angels Forum – c/o Faculty of
Agriculture, University of Mauritius, Réduit.
You must submit a 1-2 page abstract of your idea/concept/project and should contain the
following aspects:
o A clear title of your idea/project/concept.
o What is your idea?
o What are the commercial benefits of your idea?
o What would you require to commercialize your idea?
Your abstract and idea will be treated in confidentiality.
Deadline: You are requested to submit your abstract either in English or French, no later than
25 October 2010
