GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE
1. The Republic of Mauritius has received a Grant from the African Development Bank to
finance the Technical Assistance and Capacity Development for Dam Development.
2. The principal objective of this project is to enhance technical capacity of MEPU by providing
independent experts who will ensure the quality of dam planning, design, implementation and
environmental, social and gender safeguards meet sufficient standard. Capacity of MEPU
staff will also be enhanced through on the job training and technical workshops.
3. Four experts, namely engineering geology expert, dam design and construction expert,
hydrologist and environmental and social safeguard expert will be recruited under the
proposed support, through Individual Consultants selection method. Experts will look at
various issues related to aspects of dam design and construction and ensure compliance
with internationally accepted technical standards.
4. Procurement of the services of Consultants will follow the Bank's Rules of Procedure for the
Use of Consultants, May 2008 Edition, revised on July 2012.
