Biography Book Report
The biography book report will be graded on two different rubrics, the Presentation rubric and
the Timeline rubric. Each is worth 100 points which is a total of 200 points. Please work equally
hard on both parts to receive maximum points.
Oral Presentation
The oral portion of the book report will be specifically graded on the presentation only.
Presentation, knowledge of subject, costume, props, and preparedness will be looked at
specifically. For the costume and props please keep the following in mind:
1.) Your costume should represent your chosen person; keep in mind that you should use
items that you already have at home; do not feel you need to purchase additional items.
2.) Be sure you explain what you are wearing and why this is appropriate to your person.
3.) Use props to aide in the visual of your costume. For example, if your person is a singer,
you may want to make a microphone or an award that he/she has won.
Timeline
In addition to your costume and props, you will be required to make a timeline as a visual
aide for your presentation. Timelines are due May 4th. Please keep the following in mind for
your timeline:
1.) Your timeline should be made on a poster board big enough for the class to see during
your presentation.
2.) You should use your poster board as a visual aide during your presentation. Be sure that
all information is put in your own words. All information must be written or typed and
mounted neatly.
3.) A bibliography must be included on the back of your poster board.
4.) A creative title is required on your timeline; it must be easy to locate and accurately
represent your person.
5.) 7 graphics are required on your timeline poster; they may be either hand-drawn,
computer generated, or cut from a magazine.
6.) 10 or more facts are required on your timeline. Be sure your facts are important to the
understanding of your person. (Birth dates and/or death dates do not count, but
should be included)
We will be presenting these reports on May 5 and 6, 2015. If you have questions, please
ask, and do not wait until the last minute to complete this project.
