Storage of hydrocarbons without risk.
The limiting device of filling SELF-service CLIMATE is designed to fulfill the
requirements and obligations of the standard governing storage out of underground tanks
of flammable liquids (NF M 88-502).
As its denomination lets it foresee, the limiting device of filling SELF-service
CLIMATE is a mechanical safety appliance placed on
the filler tube inside the storage tank of the liquid.
This apparatus "Device anti-overflow with total safety" has the aim of reducing the risks
for the environment, the risks of pollution water (by infiltration in the ground water) like
any explosion or fire hazard likely to occur at the time of the operations of filling of
storage tank of oil fuels or chemicals.
Before its installation, it is obligatory to be ensured of compatibility between the limiting
device of filling and nature of the liquid stored inside the tank, the characteristic of the
liquid determining the type of limiting device of filling to install.
For that, the Engineering department SELF-service CLIMATE has necessary
knowledge to advise the fitter in his choice.
The limitings device of filling Coil-climate in conformity with standard NF.88.502/89 are
placed under the plate of inspection pit inside the tank and are of this fact perfectly
protected. That does not require any modification of existing pipings in the chimney of the
inspection pit.
THE
REGULATION
IMPOSES...
The circular of the 17.07.1973 (J.O. of the 15.08.1973) cancelled and replaced by the Instruction of the
17.04.1975 (J.O. of the 19.06.1975)fixe conditions to fill for the underground tanks in which are stored
flammable liquids (Listed establishment). The chapter III article 24 of this Instruction specifies that "any
operation of filling will have to be controlled by a safety device which will have to stop the filling of the
tank automatically when the maximum level of use is reached" . This device will have to be in conformity
with Standard NF.M.88.502/89 new edition which took effect the 05.07.1989.
