Visiting Author: Scott Appleton – has published his first book of young adult
fantasy. The first “Sword of the Dragon” novel is Swords of the Six.
Review:
"Scott Appleton has a big story to tell and just the kind of outside-of-the-box imagination
to pull it off. There's much at stake in the world of Subterran, and when the six fabled
swords are discovered, the stakes rise even higher. Swords of the Six is a tale replete with
heroism, betrayal, despair, and hope. If you like stories that take you to the edge and
make you think, Scott Appleton has a tale for you." -Wayne Thomas Batson Author of
The Door Within trilogy & Isle of Fire
Bio:
Scott Appleton grew up in the northeast corner of Connecticut. Upon graduating from
high school at seventeen he traveled to Thailand as a student missionary and stayed for
three months, journeying into the Kingdom of Cambodia and through the People's
Republic of Laos. Upon his return to the United States he studied Math and English at a
community college and later obtained a certificate in Creative Editing through an online
course. Over the course of several years he created the Sword of the Dragon series and
published multiple news articles, as well as works of poetry, and short fiction. Currently
he works as a freelance reporter, editor, and fiction writer.
Dixie Delights Was a Success!
Mrs. Scaringi is very proud of her Principles of Marketing class for the completion of
their Dixie Delights project. A special thanks to Katie Phelps and Andrea Wilde for
attending the Dixie Winter Craft Boutique on December 5. They set up a booth to sell
the dry mix products created, packaged, and labeled by the marketing class. 70% of the
products were sold! We have also been contacted by satisfied customers asking for
more!
Thanks to the band for providing a real-life venue for our products and thanks to our
customers for supporting our one-day business venture!
Our next project will be a collaborative effort with Cincinnati Bell and the CB Learn
Program. Watch the Dixie Dialogue for more information.
