Executive Director Position Available
The Massachusetts Association for Older Americans (MAOA) is accepting applications for
Executive Director. MAOA is a statewide membership organization concerned with the mental
health and economic security needs of older people.
Responsibilities of the Executive Director include:
 Development of the organization’s economic security agenda,
 Public education and advocacy on economic security issues,
 Oversight of the organization's Elder Mental Health Advocacy and Education agenda,
 Solicitation of gifts and membership,
 Preparation of grant proposals,
 Management of funded projects,
 Supervision of staff and volunteers,
 Support for the Board of Directors.
Qualifications include
 A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education. Candidates with
an advanced degree are preferred.
 A minimum of 3 years of experience in an organizational leadership position.
 Knowledge of economic security and mental health needs of older people and key policy
issues.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in:
 Nonprofit management
 Grant writing and grant administration
Effort and Compensation. The position is offered on a part-time basis, that is, 25 to 30 hours
per week. The salary range is $35,000 to $40,000, depending on experience. The position may
be expanded to full time as the Executive Director is successful in generating sufficient external
support.
Timing. The position is available immediately upon hiring. Review of candidate applications will
begin on November 10, 2015. The search will continue until the position is filled.
