Spanish Curriculum Framework
Spanish 6 (One day a week/year long course)
Students will participate in Spanish class one day a week. Student grades will be based on
participation and effort during each class period.
The course will consist of:
 Language immersion activities
 Basic grammar concepts
 Cultural studies

Course Purpose:
Learning a foreign language (Spanish) allows individuals to communicate
with the people who speak it and to understand and show respect toward
different cultures.
Goals:
1. Students engage in conversation, provide and obtain information,
express feelings and emotions, and exchange opinions.
2. Students understand and interpret written and spoken language
and communicate through written language on a variety of topics.
3. Students demonstrate understanding of the nature of language and
culture through comparisons of the language and culture studied
and their own.
4. Students show evidence of becoming life-long learners by using the
language for personal enjoyment and enrichment.
