JOB ANNOUNCEMENT
Position: MEMBER SERVICES COORDINATOR
General Statement of Work:
Under the direction of the Executive Director coordinates membership services and maintains all related
records. Must be capable of planning association events/workshops, making contacts with potential members,
service users, advertisers, and program sponsors. Must have knowledge to tailor existing programs/services to
the changing needs of the Association, and to plan for the development of new member services.
Duties:
 Maintains membership records and implements appropriate levels of services for all members of the
Association.
 Handles basic correspondence and telephone inquiries concerning programs/services of the Association.
 Provides assistance to Committees, Districts, and Special Interest Sections in the delivery of their
services.
 Compiles the Membership Directory, both web and paper based, and updates them as required.
 Assists the Executive Director with program/workshop development, including promotion.
 Processes registration for Association programs/workshops and coordinates resources under the
direction of the Executive Director.
 Assists with onsite coordination of programs/workshops as requested.
 Maintains and updates the NJRPA database and current mailing lists directed at specific target markets
within parks, recreation, resource management field, and related fields.
 Coordinates and promotes commercial member and vendor participation in the Association trade show
and other exhibition opportunities, including exhibit sales, sponsorships and vendor donations.
 Under direction of the Executive Director, administers Annual Conference exhibit registration desk and
provides assistance as needed.
 Updates the NJRPA web site on a weekly basis, including the calendar, job postings, news, and other
areas as requested.
 Assists the Executive Director in the production and distribution of the weekly newsletter.
 Prepares membership and registration reports as requested.
 Assists the Executive Director of the Association in the day to day office operation.
 Assists with general office duties including record keeping, purchase order processing, invoicing,
mailings, and office supply inventory and ordering.
Hours: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 4:30 pm
Qualifications:
Education:
Requires a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent. Associates Degree with 2 years related experience
will be considered. Degree in Recreation, Leisure Services, Communications or Business
Administration preferred.
Experience:
Experience in Recreation, Leisure Services, Office Management or Association Management
preferred.
Special Skills:
Must possess strong organizational skills, time management skills, and initiative. Must
demonstrate strong oral, written, and interpersonal skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
including Word, Excel, and Publisher. Experience with database management software and
website management preferred.

Salary & Other Compensation: Base salary of $35,000 commensurate with experience, skills and abilities.
