The Flu season is well under way – Don’t worry if you have missed
our Saturday clinics as we will be arranging mop up clinics during
surgery open hours. Dates will be to follow. You can also book a
routine appointment with one of our nurses.
If you are aged 65 or over, or are in an ‘at risk’ group but would
like to decline the vaccine, please inform a member of staff so
they can record this within your notes.
All 2 and 3 year olds will be eligible for the FLUENZ nasal spray
vaccination this year. Please contact reception for more details.
Repeat prescriptions
Please allow 2 working days for your repeat prescriptions.
Repeat prescription requests can be placed in the box in the
lobby. If you require your prescription to be posted to you, please
include a stamped addressed envelope. Remember to allow
extra time for this.
Repeat prescriptions can also be collected by the local chemist
that deals with your medication. Please discuss with them to
arrange this.
You can order your repeat prescriptions via our website. Talk to
the reception team who can advise you on how to register for
this free service.
Please note that requests for repeat prescriptions cannot be
taken over the telephone.

Out of hours
The Out Of Hours (OOH) service is covered by GP’s from the
surrounding areas. You can contact the service direct when the
surgery is closed by dialling 111 free from a landline or mobile.

Do not call this service unless you cannot wait for the surgery to
be open.
Please call 999 in an emergency. Chest pains and/or shortness of
breath constitute an emergency.
Test results
The practice has a strict policy regarding confidentiality and
data protection. Test results can only be given out to the person
to whom they relate unless they have given prior permission for
the release of the data or they are not capable of
understanding the result.
Please phone the surgery for your results after 2pm as this will give
the reception team more time to deal with your request.
Missed appointments
In the month of September, there were 138 appointments where
patients did not turn up or cancel their appointment.
This is an average of 6.5 appointments per day.
If you are unable to keep your appointment, please contact the
surgery so another patient may be booked in.
We offer a free texting service that will text you a reminder the
day before your appointment. Please speak to reception if you
would like to take advantage of this service.

Summary Care Record
Many of you would have now received your ‘Opt out’ form
through the post. The SCR is a national database containing
your key health information. This is made available to NHS
healthcare staff that are caring for you in an emergency or
when the practice is closed.
The information held is minimal, such as current medication,
adverse drug reactions and allergies.
If you would like any information regarding the SCR, Hampshire
Health Record or the General Practice Extraction Service,
please ask for an information sheet at reception.

The Denmead Patient Participation Group would like to hear
your views!!
If you would like to have your say about the services that are
provided at the Denmead surgery, please fill out a short form at
reception giving your email address. Alternatively, you can
