Arrive at 9:30 am for a 9:45am start.
All children will play 5 games. The games will be organised as a “Swiss
tournament”; children will play others on a similar number of points.
The children must bring a packed lunch.
Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times
when not in the chess playing rooms.
There will be some coaching provided on the day.
This event allows the organisers to see new players, who may be
capable of playing for a county team, and is used to help select the
Wiltshire Junior Chess Teams. Children must participate in two of
these events or national level competitions to be considered for
selection for the county teams.

There will be separate sections for:
- Under 9 (year 4 and under),
- Under 11 (years 5 & 6),
- Under 18 (year 7 – year 13),
All ages are as at 31st August 2014.
All sections are open to all abilities.
Players will be eligible to win one prize only.
We would particularly like to encourage children aged 11 and over to
enter these competitions, as there is often less opportunity for this age
group to play. Wiltshire Junior Chess run older age group teams (U13,
U15 & U18) who play in national competitions and this is a good
opportunity to be selected for these teams.
