Parent-Child Mother Goose (PCMG) is a program for parents and children to learn
songs, rhymes and stories. This program is designed to nurture parent-child
relationships and foster family wellness, while enhancing communication skills,
parenting strategies, socialization and healthy child development.
The cost of this 2 day training program is being funded through the Cowichan Valley
Mother Goose Community Collaborative (CVMGCC), Success by 6 and SD79 funding
dollars. We are looking for committed individuals to receive this two-day facilitator
training at no cost, in exchange for a commitment of facilitating 3 programs over a 2
year period in the Cowichan Valley. If you are interested in this training, but do not plan
to facilitate three traditional PCMG programs in the Cowichan Valley, you can still
participate in this wonderful training opportunity for the cost of $225.00.
Each Parent-Child Mother Goose Program is 8 – 10 weeks, one hour in length, with time
needed for both pre and post program preparation, clean-up and record keeping. An
honorarium will be provided for each facilitator and program delivered. A partnership
between SD 79, CCSA, VIRL and VIHA will provide for ongoing support and coordination
of the PCMG programs.
Facilitating a Parent-Child Mother Goose Program is fun, rewarding and invaluable to
children and their parents!!
