Sport and Active Leisure (SAL) Small Grants Fund
The SAL Small Grants Fund aims to support voluntary organisations in increasing the number of
active members or to support the delivery of a quality experience to participants. Grants must be
used to fulfill one of the following criteria:

Increase the number of new participants
Support the delivery of a quality sporting or activity experience
The grant can be used to support coach or volunteer education, sports equipment, venue hire or to
support the delivery of new programmes of activity.
The Sport and Active Leisure team are keen to see an increase in sport participation for the
following groups; Women, those over the age of 50, disabled people and Black Asian and Minority
Ethnic groups. We will prioritise any applications that will increase participation within these
particular groups.
There will be two funding rounds available.
Round 1 – 1st September – 31st October 2015 awarded in November 2015
Round 2 – 1st January – 28th February 2016 awarded in March 2016
Applications are limited to £500 in total, with only one application accepted from an organisation in
each financial year.
