Electron diffraction, electron microscopy, crystal structure, lattice imperfection, and quasicrystal
授業の目標 Course Objectives
This course is aimed at achieving an understanding of electron diffraction and microscopy, and their application to analysis of
crystallographic properties of solids. After the review on elementary crystallography, diffraction of high energy electron by a
crystal is discussed based on the following two theories; kinematical theory and dynamical theory of electron diffraction. As an
example of the application, recent development on quasiperiodic crystals, namely quasicrystals, will be presented.
Students who intend to study the following subjects are welcome.
