Student Announcements: (read to students)
FCCLA: Students who have already paid their FCCLA dues need to come see Ms. Tillery between classes and
officers MUST have their dues paid by September 10th or they forfeit their office.
Mums: Mums are going to be available later this week in the green house. Price is $ 7.50
Prom: On September 16th after school there will be a prom meeting for any junior interested. Officers must
attend.
Thanks from Mrs. Thomas: LCHS Faculty/Staff, Students and Friends, our Family wants to thank you so much
for your thoughts, prayers and donations through this difficult time. Our son Mathew Thomas is now at home
for a little while before he goes back to Cardinal Hill for phase 2 of his rehabilitation. It is amazing the support
my LCHS family has given our family and I am so thankful to have called this home for the past 20 years. With
Love and Humbleness the Thomas Family.
Homecoming: If you are a homecoming court participant, please pick up an information sheet from Mrs.
Padgett in RM 305 or you can stop by the front desk. The information sheet must be returned to Mrs. Padgett
by Wed the 17th. Homecoming is going to be Friday September 19 th verses Casey County. The theme is “Patriot
Pride: Crush the Rebels”
Driving Class: There will be a driving class Monday September 15 from 4:30- 8:30 in room 114.
Senior Trip: The senior trip is April 22-26 to Orlando, Florida. The first payment of $200 and the
permission forms are due by September 10 to Mrs. Upchurch in the media center.
2014 Student Poster Contest Recognizes Public Service: The deadline is September 12 if
interested stop by the front for info.
Yearbooks: There are additional yearbooks for sale. The cost is $52 and can be purchased in room 206.

Midway College: A representative from Midway College will be set up outside the cafeteria today,during
fourth period.
Letter of Recommendation: If you need letters of recommendation for colleges or activities, pick up a
Letter of Recommendation Personal Data Form in the guidance office. These must be filled out in detail and
returned to counselors for us to write the recommendation
KSBA Scholarship - $500 local scholarship offered to one male student and one female student at LCHS.
Students must be the first members of their immediate family to attend college and have a minimum score of 20
in reading on their ACT. Students must write a brief essay about “Why I should receive the KSBA
scholarship”. Essays due to Mrs. Cooper by November 3.
Juniors – Youth Salute: Junior youth salute applications are available in the Guidance Office. To qualify,
a student must; Have a cumulative 3.0 GPA; Have held two leadership positions to which they were chosen by
their peers or an adult leader within the past two years in a school, religious, or community sponsored
organization; Applications must be returned to Mrs. Cooper by September 26.
