ParaVolley Europe Allocation of Slots for competitions
In the event of over-subscription of applications to PVE Continental Challenge and European
Championships, the following rules will apply.
European Championships



4 slots (up to a maximum of 50% of the available) to the top 4 teams from the previous
Championships
1 slot for the organiser
The highest-placed teams in the PVE Ranking at the Closing Date of entries.
o PVE reserves the right to use WPV Rankings if PVE Rankings are not available.
In addition to the above, up to 50% of top teams from the previous Championships will be seeded,
(but never more than 6 teams) with the remaining teams drawn by lot.
Continental Challenge




4 slots (up to a maximum of 50% of the available) to the top 4 teams from the previous
Continental Cup
1 slot for the organiser
The highest-placed teams in the ECVD Ranking at the Closing Date of entries.
o ECVD reserves the right to use WOVD Rankings if ECVD Rankings are not available.
ECVD reserves the right to allocate a maximum of two slots for non-ECVD teams.
The highest-placed teams from the previous Continental Challenge may be seeded, up to 50% of the
number of lots, but never more than 6 teams, with the remaining teams drawn by lot. Seeding from
previous events will not be used when the interval from the previous event is more than 2 years.
Ranking points
All ECVD zone teams competing will be awarded Ranking Points from Sub-Zonal Championships,
Continental Challenge and European Championships. For Continental Challenge, actual finishing
position will be used regardless of whether teams finishing higher were non-PVE teams. Ranking
Points will be awarded for competitions from January 2013 onwards and will be accrued on a 4-year
rolling cycle to determine rankings.
So, 2013 results will be counted until 31st December 2016, at which time the span will be 2013-2017
inclusive, changing again every year.
