Process for self-scoring writing:
#1 { Bracket the beginning, middle and end

Use the information from the above process and the following statements to score yourself.
Task completion:
Score 0: I was not able to write a beginning, middle and end or I made up a lot of words.
Score 1: I had a beginning, middle and end. I feel pretty confident in my use of vocabulary.
Score 2: I had details in my beginning, middle and end. I feel pretty confident in my use of vocabulary.
Score 3: I meet the expectations for a 2 and I used creative content. I know I used the right vocabulary.
Score 4: I meet the expectation for a 3 and my beginning, middle and end include creative content and details
throughout.
Language control:
Score 0: I don’t understand different verb constructions very well/ or I know I only used one tense/ point-ofview. I used simple sentences.
Score 1: I don’t understand different verb constructions very well/ or I know I only used one tense/ point-ofview. I combined some sentences with connector words.
Score 2: I tried to use more than verb construction but I’m not sure if it’s correct.
Score 3: I know I used more than one verb construction and I can translate them accurately.
Score 4: I know how to manipulate a variety of verbs in multiple tenses/ point-of-view and I intentionally used
them to enhance my writing.
Vocabulary:
Score 0: I used less than 10 different verbs and
I used 0-1 transition words and 0-1 pronouns.
Score 1: I used at least 10 different verbs and
I used 2-3 transition words and 2-3 pronouns.
Score 2: I used at least 10 different verbs and
I used 4+ transition words and 4+ pronouns.
Score 3: I used at least 12 different verbs and
I used 4+ transition words and 4+ pronouns
I also used adjectives, adverbs, and/or similes to color my writing.
Score 4: I meet the expectations for a 3.
I can use precise vocabulary and I rarely repeat myself.
I used some idiomatic expressions.
