Library Team Meeting
Wednesday, August 20, 2014 9:00 a.m.
Present: McCallister, Bren, Elsen, Fragola, Knight, Johnson, Kimball (recorder)
The cafe remodeling is coming along and hopefully will be open by the first day of classes.
There will be soup and limited Sunday hours.
The circulation remodeling renovation will take place during Winterim. FP&M and Badger
State will work together on this project. The current cube furniture is ours to keep if we have the
need. It was suggested that the cube walls could be used on the third floor in the group study
rooms.
It seems to be official that the Center for Students with Disabilities will be taking over two of our
rooms in the Special Collections/mezzanine area. (L3002 and 3003) FP&M will install a fire
door to bring the area up to code. The Library has one week in which to empty out what we wish
to keep, and to label what we would like moved to a different area or to surplus. Carol, Anne,
and Char will clear out the lounge area. Tami is concerned with signage as this area is lacking
exit signs.
The search for the reference position and the search for circulation are almost complete. An
early September start date is expected for both positions.
Myrna and Tami McCullough discussed a divider for the first floor library classroom. Tami was
concerned with the egress issues. She also inquired who would be using this new room and how
often we expect it to be used.
The folding door for the Purple Room still has not been delivered.
Team decided to add one more book scanner for use in the Purple Room.
